Otis Elite Range Box Review: 60+ Cleaning Tools in a Box That Doubles as a Vise
The short version: Otis's Elite Range Box packs more than 60 cleaning components into a portable box that doubles as a gun vise. Gun University's reviewer grades it A+ but says the $243.54 list price makes the most sense if you clean several different guns.

Most cleaning kits are a bag of brushes and patches. The Otis Elite Range Box Universal Gun Cleaning Kit is a full system in a hard case, aimed at owners who want one organized setup for handguns, rifles and shotguns. Inside are 16 bronze bore brushes, four Otis Ripcord bore cleaners (.22/.223, .30/.308, 9mm/.38 and 12 gauge), Memory-Flex cleaning cables, patches, slotted tips, obstruction removers, scrapers, the 5.56mm B.O.N.E. tool for the bolt carrier group, and Shooter's Choice FP-10 lubricant plus grease.
Reviewer Karen Hunter says the real value isn't the parts count but having the right tool for many calibers in one place. The Memory-Flex cables clean breech to muzzle, pulling fouling away from the action, and the Ripcords are handy for quick bore cleaning at the range. The box itself has adjustable supports to steady a gun while you work, plus a magazine-well vise block for compatible AR-style rifles, and it leaves room to add your own solvents and tools.
The trade-offs: there is no full-length solid cleaning rod, and shooters used to a one-piece rod, bore guide or traditional jags may want to add those. At a manufacturer-listed $243.54, it's not a budget kit, so occasional shooters may find it hard to justify. For anyone maintaining a varied collection, the review concludes the convenience earns its place.
